Welcome to the next workshop with Haya’s Kitchen!
Spring time in Palestine is breathtaking. You see greenery, flowers, and trees blooming, all nurtured and washed by the winter rain. When Spring arrives, nature is ready to show off its beauty and abundance with a broad range of colorful flowers and herbs. Some of the key Spring herbs and vegetables include wild za’atar, hindbeh, khubeizeh, louz, 7amleh and so much more.
In commemoration of the Nakba, we’re going to be baking two mua’janat (pastries) that symbolise spring, resilience and strength – Akkawi and Wild Za’atar, and Sabanekh (Spinach).
Throughout the workshop, you’ll learn the dough making process as well as the fillings, listen to the tales of the ingredients told by Haya, and shape and bake your own mua’janat. And then, of course, we’ll get to enjoy the fruits of our labor.
Please note that this workshop is vegetarian friendly and includes dairy and gluten.
