Join us for a special book Ana Min Hunak discussion in collaboration with Reel Palestine on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022. We’ll be discussing Minor Detail by Adania Shibli, a searing, beautiful novel meditating on war, violence, memory, and the sufferings of the Palestinian people. Shibli masterfully overlays two translucent narratives of exactly the same length to evoke a present forever haunted by the past as she cuts to the heart of the Palestinian experience of dispossession, life under occupation, and the persistent difficulty of piecing together a narrative in the face of ongoing erasure and disempowerment.   The book can be found in major bookstores in the UAE such as Kinokuniya and Magrudy’s. We hope to engage in thought-provoking discussion every month surrounding a different book, as well as develop a sense of community and a means for a deeper education of our rich history and culture.
