Roots & Rhythm: A Morning of Gardening & Dabkeh
In this workshop, we celebrate nature, heritage, and the power of connection: to the Earth, to our bodies, and to one another.
🌱 Part I – Gardening: Planting Our Roots
We begin by getting our hands in the soil, reconnecting with the land through the simple, powerful act of planting.
In this session, you’ll learn the basics of home gardening, including organic care and maintenance.
It’s a hands-on experience where you’ll plant your own seeds and take them home.
🇵🇸 A Tribute to Palestinian Plants
You’ll explore traditional Palestinian wild plants, including Wild Mallow (Khobizeh), Dandelion, and a few familiar edible varieties.
These plants represent resilience, nourishment, and a deep connection to the land.
💃🏽 Part II – Dabkeh: Moving Our Roots
After planting, we rise to move.
Through Dabkeh, we celebrate rhythm, strength, and joy, the heartbeat of our culture.
This is your chance to dance freely, connect to your body, and express your heritage through movement.
🌾 You’ll leave with:
- Seeds you planted yourself, and the knowledge to continue growing at home
- A renewed sense of grounding and connection to heritage
No prior experience is needed, just bring your energy, your presence, and your love for community!
