06 May Fairtrade Gold and Ethical Jewellery Making Part 2
Fairtrade Gold and Ethical Jewellery Making Part 2
Where do gold and silver come from? Who digs these metals out of the earth? How do they do it and what impact does it have on the world? Running in collaboration with Cinema Akil and Another Way Film Festival (AWFF), join us for an hour and a half session exploring these questions before diving in to watch DAUGHTER OF THE LAKE at Cinema Akil (please note Cinema tickets to be booked separately and in advance). 10% of profits will be donated to the Fairtrade Foundation. Participants will make a piece of jewellery using recycled silver and leaves found around Alserkal Avenue or a pendant using easy to use moulds. Each participant will be given 5 grams of precious metal clay, all tools required to make a small piece of jewellery and a necklace made from recycled rubber. The final pieces will be finished for you by Poras over the course of the week.
