At times like these, art is a powerful form of expression. This month, KAVE’s Art Salon goes silent for Palestine with artists Zaina Kana’an, Dana Kamal, and Zayd Alathari, of  Palestinian & Arab descent in solidarity with humanity. Their pieces will cover themes of occupation, rootedness, and freedom and will be made available to purchase  in a silent auction.

The artists have pledged proceeds from the art pieces sold to  The Little Wings Foundation to help with their commitment to providing specialist paediatric orthopaedic care to children in critical humanitarian conditions in Gaza (under IACAD permit no.PRHCE-002233721) .

The evening will include spoken word at 7:30pm  by artist Zayd Alathari as well as an opportunity to discuss & bid on the different artworks with all 3 artists before and after.

Artist Highlight

Zayd Alathari is an Iraqi born Artist & Poet promoting creative expressions and self-identity. His uniquely tailored art and stories explore the essence of self, family, humanity, wellbeing, dignity, vulnerability and freedom. Each of Zayd’s painting carries its own vulnerable story and poem with it, exploring wellness and a sense of belonging in multicultural settings.

Artist Highlight

Zaina Kana’an is a multi disciplinary Palestinian artist. She is mostly driven by sculpting and painting, she focuses on creating whimsical pieces that capture her imagination. She works with paper, clay, pens, oils and acrylic to tell creative imaginary stories from other dimensions.

Artist Highlight

Dana Kamal is a Palestinian artist with a focus on ceramic art and sculpting. Nature is her source of inspiration . Her work oscillates between representations of nature and interpretations of human-nature and the potential influence of one upon the other. She explores repetitive themes of beauty and vulnerability in resilience and strength in fragility in both the context of her external and internal landscape. This, in turn, is echoed by her affinity with porcelain, which though perceived to be delicate and fragile, is in fact the strongest of the clay bodies.
